Robyn Ritter Simon Raises Over $110,000
Los Angeles -- City Council Candidate Robyn Ritter Simon has reported raising over $110,000 for the first half of 2008, exceeding her campaign's fundraising goals.
"Since I announced my candidacy for City Council four months ago, the outpouring of support has been overwhelming. Raising over a $110,000, this early, speaks to the fact that my message is resonating with voters and supporters," said Ritter Simon who is running for the Fifth City Council District which includes Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Century City, Encino, Beverlywood, Westwood, Cheviot Hills, the Fairfax District and Carthay Circle and the hillside communities between the 405 and Laurel Canyon.
A longtime Los Angeles resident, Ritter Simon is a noted community and business leader. She is the former President and CEO of the Century City Chamber of Commerce.
Robyn Ritter Simon is endorsed by City Controller Laura Chick, as well as the National Organization of Women (LA NOW Chapter), among many other groups and community leaders.
The election for the Fifth Council District is March 3, 2009. The incumbent Councilmember, Jack Weiss, will not seek re-election since he is running for City Attorney.
