Summer of Love or is it?

Are the residents of Los Angeles being done a disservice by painting a misleading picture of the Homicides in Los Angeles?

 

At 84 murders in the past three months, that comes to 28 per month.  We now sit at 247 murders in LA for 2008. The final body count in 2007 was 394. With four months to go in 2008, keeping the average at this low number, we are facing a body count of 359 for 2008. While 112 less killings are an improvement, the total body count during the current Mayors term in office stands at 1,160. Hardly a reason to celebrate!
